We Will Miss You Ted Kennedy

Senator Ted Kennedy will truly be missed. He was a remarkable and in my opinion an incredible, full of wisdom of a great political leader. At this moment I'm taking a break from my t.v. viewing his funeral services to write this post in honor of him. As I watched his home going services, listening to his sons about their personal relationship with his father, I've learned even more about this man. He's a great example to learn from in how to treat people with differences. From what I learned he just about got along with everyone.
My prayers go out to his family, that they be comforted by God's favor and peace. This country (U.S.) lost a valuable citizen. I'll miss him and I know the country will to. I believe though he is Heaven with our Lord and Jesus Christ. He is now at peace, he has already made the journey into a new life.
The other thing that I found so amazing is that this man actually allow the word of God, to guide him in his moral and political views and issues as he tried to make a ddifference in this world. I'm sure God is proud of that.
Be at peace Ted Kennedy, now you can rest in the arms of out Lord.

...and in fond memory and in admiration of Ted Kennedy.

A Date Set

PROMOTIONAL PRODUCT SHOWING. My business Bountiful Treasures is going to host a Promotional Product Showing Party or Trunk Show, if you want to call it that. I believe I'll have it on October 17, 2009. I haven't quite figure out what time yet. I want to pick a time where more people will be able to come. I'm doing this so that more people will know about my business and know what kind of products I sell. So it's self promoting and advertising. Right now I'm working on quite a lot of products. So I've been pretty busy.

At my Trunk Show, I'll be showing some of my crochet craft work (afghans & lap throws), my one of kind jewelry pieces, and my healthy-beneficial soap & bath salt bath and body products. I'm super excited and I'm hoping that a lot of people will come. I gotta go, because I'm going to be working on some crocheted washcloth to go with my bath & body spa package. I'll post some pics of my progress soon.

Back To Work

Vacation time is over and boy did I needed it. It help me to refuel for homeschooling and getting back to work. In just a few minutes I'll be going to what I like to call workshop and make some bath and body spa products. Later today I'll be working on some jewelry. I have some ideas in my head that I want to use as I create my pieces, and I'm anxious to see how it turns out. I'm also really preparing for my business product showing that I'm planning on having sometime, hopefully in October this year. I want it to be nice and it's part of my advertisement of what products that my business will be selling. Hopefully things work out, I'll be on Etsy soon. I'm so excited about the new products I'll be offering this year as well.
My new project for my business is working on newsletters. Getting the word out about who I am and helpful information will be included in there to. I will be having bargains, sales and discounts about the products in there to. So every step of the way, God is helping me to get things done.
Stay crafty everyone and remember:

Sun & Fun At The Beach Pics

Hi everybody. I had a great time on my summer vacation, before school starts. Here are some pics of the places, activities, etc. that we did on our vacation. The pictures are in no particular order. Hope you enjoy them. Happy summer to all, and I hope you all have a good Fall.
Me at Michaels. My Mother, sister and I love to craft. So you all know, we hit those craft stores hard.

My sister, checking the receipts.

We love Crafts.

This was near the hotel we stayed at. Isn't it beautiful?

The name of the hotel we stayed at.

I had to get a picture of this sandcastle. My sister and I spotted it while walking along the beach.

Hey sis, she's excited about being at Barnes & Noble.

Myrtle Beach is where the fun is. This water is so beautiful.

My sis.

The hotel we stayed in.

This is behind the hotel. There is so much things and beauties to see at the beach.

Here is my mom, she's excited about the yarn being on sale. In fact we all are. Being in a craft store is like being in a candy store.

Just look at those beautiful yarns. We'll be making plenty of hats scarfs, and blankets this winter for gifts and I'll be making some to sell in my shop.

I'll be making a baby blanket out of this pinkie pinkie yarn. It's going to be adorable.

Me, dad, and my mom. (Again in no particular order) We're getting ready to go on the trip. The theme of this trip was, "mother & daughter's get away."

My mom and dad. Love ya'll!!!

Here's my sis, mom in the back at A.C. Moore. We're going yarn hunting.

Love this store. I can actually live here.

At the beach.

Ready to go on vacation.

This pier is behind the hotel. People go fishing everyday on this pier. It's beautiful.

Enjoying the sun.

My mom inside the hotel room. It is really nice and so quiet and peaceful.

Time for getting my toes wet.

My mom and sis. Time for us to head back home. This is our annual outting, so we'll be doing this again next year.

Hope you all enjoyed the pictures and have enjoyed your summer this year. What did you all did for the summer? Did any of you took a vacation?
Until next time,

Building A Business

It takes a lot of work to get a business going. Especially if you are preparing to try to stock up on products for the coming Fall/Winter to sell. If things work out, I'm planning on having a jewelry party sometime in November for the Christmas gift shopping. I am having fun prepping and planning for my business to do well, but I'm careful not to over-exhaust myself.

I hope to be having some of my jewelry pieces sold in some shops, namely craft and bridal shops. This summer has been a bit peaceful, but there is something else in my life wanting. Quite can't figure it out yet, but I know things will come about clearly.

Hat Tea Party

Today I decided to have a "Luncheon Hat Tea Party" for my mom. The theme was Hat Tea Party. We had a great time, and my mother enjoyed it. I wanted to do this for her, because she deserved it. She raised all of us kids and I think she did a great job. Love you mommy, and God bless you.

My mother here, sporting her Red Hat.

This is my sundae with whip creme, homemade blueberry topping, walnuts, pineapple, cherries and caramel topping. Hey I had the whole works. This was the dessert we had after we ate our other food. Oh yeah I baked some chocolate chip cookies for dessert with pecans to go with the luncheon.

Here's me with some food in hand. I'm ready to eat.

This is the Tuna salad I made doe the party.

Appetizers, yummy cheese and crackers.

Last but certainly not least, tomatoes and cucumbers to go with the salads we had at the luncheon. We also had chicken salad, which my mother made. It was so delicious.
For our beverages we had lemon iced tea with a choice of lemonade. We sat under the cool breeze tree and played scrabble. Afterwards we went inside and watched a movie (Chocolat).
Then to top it all off we went for an evening shopping at the mall. It so nice and to be able to be blessed to spend it with my mother.
I hope everyone had a good Friday and will have a good weekend. Put it in your plans to do something with your mother this weekend. If your mother has gone on with the Lord, make plans to spend time with a close relative. Enjoy life with your love ones and have fun.

What I've Been Working On

Here are a few crochet projects that I'm working on. This is going to be a lap throw, with more of a different style. It is made with a double crochet stitch only, from row to row. I call this a "Native American Free."

It reminds me of the tapestry and other ancestral objects that Native American make.

These are yarns that I'm working on from my stash as well.

Here are the squares I'm working on for my "Crochet Along."
This will actually be a granny square afghan for a man. I hardly ever make anything for men, so I wanted to have more of a variety for them as well as for the ladies. This Granny Square Afghan I'm working on will be sold in my shop or at a Craft Fair.
So what are you working on, and are you crocheting or knitting anything for the men in your life or for the men to buy your crochet project in the market?

Calling All Crocheters & Knitters For a Crochet Along

First order of business. I did successfully well with my bake sale. Unfortuantely, people only looked at my crochet items, but didn't seem to have to much pressure to buy any. This was in my neighborhood, so I definitely have to take my creativity and product else where. I need to branch out more in other LYS, arts & craft shops, and what I'm going to do next, get on Etsy.
Overall it was a great experience, and I learned what people are most interesting in.
O.K. Here is an event I'm putting on, or shall I say presenting a project for all knitters and crocheters. I'm going to host a Crochet Along, an easy one to. The project will be "Granny Square Fever."

There are no specific colors, and the granny squares can be any size or style. There are only 2 rules, it has to be the granny square that you attach or put together, and it has to have a theme. **Also please give a description or a memory of how you got started with knitting and/or crocheting.** This Crochet Along will begin in August 1, 2009 and hopefully everyone will finish at the appointed due date, which is October 24, 2009.

When everyone is done or have completed their Granny Square, please drop me a line (via e-mail) with your Granny Square theme name, and a short memory how you began crocheting and/or knitting. Please also e-mail a picture of your project so that I can post it on my blog. Please post pictures on your blog as well about your Crochet Along project.

This Crochet Along is also for all of us Crocheters and Knitters to correspond and get to know and encourage each other. If anyone runs into a stitch problem, we are all here to help you "Along" the way.

So who wants to join? Please let me know before July 26, 2009-so that I can post everyone's name and blog link on my blog. Just leave a comment and let me know. Every Thursday I will report on any progress that I'm making with my granny square in my posts and/or anyone else's progress that care to share in the comments how they are coming along and progressing.

*Above are some examples and ideas of how you would like to create your granny squares.*
So if your interested, let me know.

Bake Sale and Some Crochet Stuff

Being that I'm a new business. I'm having a bake and arts & crafts sale. In a way having this bake sale and craft sale will be a big major advertising for me. I'm hoping that this will get the word out about my business and the products I'll be selling. A few of things that I will be selling is cookies, cupcakes and sodas.

The crochet products that I will be selling are purses. I'm hoping to crochet some washcloths and dishcloths to some people in my neighborhood. Also I'm working on some winter projects to sell or have on hand for customers to order. People really like afghans and granny square-so I want to be well stocked.

I'll let everyone know how the sale went and I hope to be getting more orders after.
A little preview of what I'm working on are (and it's quite a bit of WIP's), a prayer shawl for myself and an afghan. I'm also working on a men's granny square blanket. I'll post pics of these projects soon.
So, what are the current WIP's (Work In Progress) or projects that you all are working on?
I hope that everyone who is knitting and crocheting is stitching together some love this evening.

I Love The Crochet Life

Welcome to the "Crochet Life," where I hope you can make yourself at home and relax. This blog will not only consider crocheting, but other art's and crafts, and life in the business as an Aromatherapist. It will be a blog about how my life is stitched together by God and how He plans out my destiny.
I hope everyone is doing good in their craft business and I pray you all have great success.
